Ever since its founding in 1977, Silver Snail, the renowned Toronto comic shop, has had a (roughly) annual tradition of commissioning posters for their big anniversary/sale event each May. From since before I could read, this place was my church, my refuge, and my regular happy place, all the way through to college (when it became even more regular, since I worked there for a year or so). Needless to say, it was a tremendous honor to be asked to draw one for their 32nd anniversary and to join the likes of Ty Templeton, Ken Steacy, Charles Vess, Dave McKean, Simon Bisley, Adam Hughes, and Mike Mignola, among others, in doing so. While I would never place myself alongside such giants with a straight face in any other context, I'm proud that I squeaked in.
